An experienced leader, Ali began her tenure as President in February 2022 after serving for several years on the Board of Directors. Dedicated to the Fresh Start Furnishings mission, she has actively contributed by developing and revising the organization’s governance documents, as well as participating in strategic planning, budget development and approval, and fundraising activities. Ali has used her writing, marketing, and communication skills to develop annual appeal letters to current donors, past donors, and faith-based organizations; sponsorship recognition letters and awards; and collaborating with graphic artists to design a program logo.
A lifelong resident of Maryland, Ali moved to Harford County in 2015 and joined the Fresh Start Furnishings Board soon after. She is a member of the 420 Fire Maryland Church, a home church based in Bel Air; as leader of the church’s Bel Air hub, Ali teaches every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. She is a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) Lodge 1565 in Havre de Grace where she served one term as Chaplain and one term as Esteemed Leading Knight. She also served as Vice President Public Relations (two years) and President (two years) of the Bel Air Toastmasters club.
Ali has a B.S. in Communication from University of Maryland University College (now University of Maryland Global Campus) and an M.A. in Human Services Counseling – Life Coaching from Liberty University. In 2014, she founded her company ABIL Solutions, LLC to provide freelance writing, training, marketing services, and leadership and public speaking coaching. As a partner with the company Govxential, she applies her knowledge of government contracting to assist businesses develop proposals to best position them to win government contract awards. She is a member of the Harford County Chamber of Commerce and was recognized as a Fellow by the Association of Proposal Management Professionals.
