Thank you for donating to the Fresh Start Furniture Program. We give unwanted items a new life by passing them along at no cost to local families in need. Your in-kind donations not only provide comfort and a sense of dignity, but are helping to stabilize vulnerable households and end homelessness in Harford County.
Please note that we do NOT offer pick-up outside of Harford County, MD. If you would like to deliver your items to our showroom in Aberdeen, MD, we are happy to accept them!
HOW TO DONATE

Plan your visit:
We have recently added new OPEN DROP-OFF HOURS for your convenience.

No appointment is necessary if you have less than 5 large items.
If you have more than 5 large items you MUST complete a donation form and schedule a delivery appointment.

Complete a Donation Form if:
1) Your donation is upholstered (all upholstered items must be pre-approved)
2) You have MORE THAN 5 large items
3) You need to request a pick-up ($25 minimum donation requested)
4) You want to confirm we can accept your items before bringing them
SOME THINGS TO KNOW...
WE HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO COMPLETE A DONATION FORM:
There are many household items we do not accept for various reasons. We encourage you to complete a donation form and speak with our Donations Coordinator prior to dropping-off if there is ANY QUESTION about the items we accept or the condition we accept them in. We reserve the right to refuse any items that do not meet the wishlist description or quality we are bound to by IRS standards.

OPEN DROP-OFF HOURS:
We are now open for drop-offs without an appointment during the following times. We will be adding more hours as we grow.
Wednesdays- 10:15am - 2:00pm
Fridays- 11:15am - 6:00pm
2nd Saturdays - 10:15am - 1:00pm
3rd Saturdays- 9:15am - 12:00pm
PICK-UP REQUESTS
We are able to pick-up but please keep in mind that our organization is heavily supported by volunteers and wait times can vary based on client need, volunteer availability and space in our showroom. For that reason, our current wait time is 2-4 weeks for pick-up. Please list in the comments section of the donation form if you would like to request pick-up. If you need more urgent pick-up, we recommend contacting one of our trusted junk removal partners who will deliver donations to us on your behalf for a fee.

URGENT REQUESTS
The Fresh Start Furniture Program is heavily supported by a small group of committed volunteers who serve regularly to furnish homes in Harford County. For this reason, we cannot always accommodate urgent requests. Please fill out the donation form and list in the comment section the urgent need you have. If attention is needed earlier than our normal response time of 3 business days, please call 443-519-2464 ext. 3 after submitting the donation form.
ACCEPTED ITEMS:
Please review our wishlist for detailed information about specific item inquiries. We may decline your donation offer for several reasons including things like: the item does not fit our mission; the item is too big or too heavy for our families' modest homes, or; we do not have available space in our showroom at the time of your offer.
If you have a question about a specific item, please be sure to list that in the comment section of the donation form. We are always happy to provide referrals to other organizations if we are unable to accept certain items.
