Fresh Start Furnishings at ICO receives Member's Choice Award from the Women's Giving Circle of Harford County

We are honored to share that Fresh Start Furnishings at Inner County Outreach has been selected as this year’s Member’s Choice Award recipient by the Women’s Giving Circle of Harford County. This recognition is especially meaningful to our organization, not only because of the impact it represents, but because of the thoughtful and member-driven process behind it.

For the past eight years, the Women’s Giving Circle (WGC) has been a valued partner in supporting Fresh Start's mission to strengthen families and promote housing stability. Their commitment to improving the lives of women and children aligns deeply with our work, and their continued investment has helped us provide essential home goods and transportation to families transitioning out of crisis. This award of $5,988.73 will expand our ability to pick up community donations, ensuring we maintain the inventory needed to serve families seeking assistance.

What makes the Member’s Choice Award so special is that it is truly driven by the members themselves. On an annual basis, WGC member's are invited to nominate a deserving nonprofit and share about and impact with the other members. The winner of the award is then selected from among the nominated nonprofits. There are hundreds or worthy local organizations so to not only be nominated, but also chosen by a group of engaged, informed community members who are passionate about making a difference is an incredible honor.

The Women’s Giving Circle of Harford County is a collective of women who pool their resources to fund programs that support the well-being of women and children in the Harford County. Through thoughtful grantmaking, education, and community engagement, WGC has become a powerful force for positive change. Their model not only provides critical funding, but also builds awareness and connection among local nonprofits and community leaders.

We are deeply grateful for this recognition and for the ongoing partnership with WGC. Awards like this affirm the importance of our work and the real impact it has on families striving for stability and dignity.
