From Hotel Rooms to Homes: A Donation That’s Changing Lives

Thanks to a wonderful connection made by Maryland State Delegate Steve Johnson, we were recently gifted a generous donation from the Holiday Inn Belcamp–Aberdeen Area as they began updating their guest rooms.
The hotel donated 8 queen mattress sets, 10 nightstands, 8 floor lamps, and 8 TVs, all in great condition and perfect for helping us furnish homes for local families. The hotel staff made the process smooth and welcoming, giving us easy access to their onsite storage pods and supporting our team throughout the day.
In the busyness of the pickup, we accidentally left behind 8 of the 16 mattress sets we were supposed to take. The hotel kindly offered to personally deliver the remaining mattresses and bring additional floor lamps the very next day, showing just how committed they are to making a difference.
We also want to thank volunteer Jeanne Mannion, who connected us with KCI Technologies, where her husband Arch works. Jeanne shared that the company loves supporting the community, and they proved it. KCI provided a 40-foot box truck and sent driver Logan Seay, who not only drove but also jumped in to help load and unload the furniture.
It took six strong volunteers to complete the pickup, and we are grateful to each one of them. This effort showed what is possible when local businesses and community members come together to support families in need.
We are so thankful to Delegate Johnson, Holiday Inn, Jeanne, KCI Technologies, Logan, and our amazing volunteers for making this happen.
